Hi, I'm Edahani, but most people just call me Eda. đ
I'm a self-taught mixed media sketchbook artist based in Malaysia, and honestly? never thought I'd be saying that. Back in 2020, I challenged myself to learn how to draw, mostly because I was convinced I couldn't. I was completely wrong (obviously?) and realised it was all just a "myth!". I have since changed my belief - drawing/painting is a skill you can build with practice (lotssss of it!)
I fell deeeep in watercolour rabbit hole almost immediately, and has now even expanded to other holes (ops!). So these days I work across watercolour, gouache/acrylic gouache, inks, pastels, coloured pencils, basically anything I can get my hands on (or convinced myself that I need them?).Â
My sketchbooks are full of everyday things and experiments: from various landscapes (some from my own photos and others from royalty-free stock photos), busy streets or shops I visited, meals I ate on some days and some little details from my travels regardless how short. Nothing too grand, just life as I see it.
For me, art has never really been about being technically perfect. It's about showing up, slowing down, and finding joy in the ordinary moments, which honestly, is something I think we could all do with a little more of đ
I'm quite the introvert in real life, but I genuinely love connecting with people who love art or who are just curious about it. If you'd like to follow along on my creative journey, come say hi on Instagram or TikTok (yes, I'm keeping with the trend as much I can! đ). I'd love to have you there. And if you prefer the old-fashioned way, my inbox is always open.Â
Drop me a message anytime. I don't bite, I promise! đ¨đ
